The Quest for Cakes Bakery
A full e-commerce experience for a beloved Orangeville bakery — turning a phone-and-storefront operation into a business that takes orders around the clock and keeps customers coming back by text and social.
The Challenge
Quest for Cakes has been a fixture in Orangeville for well over a decade, known for custom cakes and a peanut- and tree-nut-free kitchen that welcomes gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan customers. But a bakery is not simple retail. Custom cakes need consultation, orders need lead time, allergen information has to be unmistakable, and every sale had been running through the phone during business hours. They needed an online store that respected how a bakery actually works — and marketing that reached customers between orders.
What We Did
We built a complete e-commerce website with a full product catalogue spanning cakes, cupcakes, breads, chocolates, baked goods, specialty boxes, platters, take-home meals, and a lunch menu. Secure online checkout accepts all major credit cards, customer accounts keep repeat ordering simple, and a custom cake request tool lets customers design a one-of-a-kind order online. Order lead times are communicated clearly at every step so expectations are set before checkout, and dedicated wedding and baptism cake pages capture high-intent search traffic. We then connected the store to a marketing system built for repeat business: SMS marketing to drive conversions, send reminders, and build loyalty through targeted messaging; social media marketing to keep the bakery visible; an email newsletter for product news; and an integrated Google review flow that puts real customer voices on the homepage.
The Result
Quest for Cakes now sells online around the clock instead of only when the phone is answered, with a storefront that reflects the quality of their work and marketing channels that bring customers back for the next celebration.
